Despite expectations of wet tracks after a rainy winter, the group enjoyed a fortunate break with blue skies and sunshine from 9am to 3:30pm, the rain only beginning as they departed. The day started on easier tracks, gradually progressing to medium-level terrain before morning tea. After a brief check of the difficult afternoon track’s conditions, the convoy tackled a more challenging route, including a long downhill descent, concluding the morning’s adventure before lunch around 12:30pm. Following lunch, Deepak and Zahra departed, while the remaining members eagerly headed for the difficult track. Starting the challenging section at 1pm, the group experienced a significant increase in intensity.

While it felt less daunting than previous occasions, the track presented a continuous series of obstacles. All drivers, particularly the younger lads, performed exceptionally well. The final stage included large puddles; after Paul navigated one deep section and turned back from an even deeper one, Peter bravely drove through, with water reaching his bonnet, successfully conquering the obstacle. At the track’s end, a small river blocked access to another route. Some members chose to head home, while others, including the young lads, enjoyed playing around by driving through the river.

The trip concluded without any breakdowns or major issues. Everyone had a great drive, leaving with vehicles that showed the satisfying marks of mud and minor rock hits from a rewarding 4WD adventure. Julimar Forest consistently offers “technical and challenging 4WDriving” amidst its scenic beauty.
