Anita and Anthony led a trip starting from the Placid Ark Roadhouse at 9:00. They all drove to the Marrinup Dam in the Marrinup State Forest. It was a short walk to where there were views over Alcoa and rocks. While we walked, Anita and Anthony set up the High Tea. We all enjoyed the sumptuous feed and the two different types of tea on offer (what an amazing effort Anita put in to cooking all the delicious food).

We then proceeded to the Marrinup Number 16 P.O.W. camp , which was very interesting with loads of informative sign boards, amid lovely gum trees, and wildflowers. Following on from that we drove through the forest to the Oakley Brook Dam which is part of the North Dandalup Dam. The picnic area was complete with barbecues, toilets and tables set on a grassy area beneath the dam wall.

It was a really enjoyable day but huge thank you goes to Anita for all the amazing food and her trusted assistant Anthony who also planned the days outings.
